- Astroneer Multiplayer: Steam, Xbox One & Windows 10 So far Astroneer multiplayer is in its developing stages. It is quite glitchy/buggy, a number of players is limited, players can share the game-session only if their Astroneer versions match and joining a game via Steam seems to be impossible for some at the moment. And that instant crashing after the pod lands...
However, our guide will try to give you the most useful tips on how to play Astroneer multiplayer.
Astroneer Xbox One Multiplayer
Xbox multiplayer for this game works the same as for Astroneer multiplayer Windows 10.
Here's what you should do:
Invite co-players through the Xbox Live party.
Use Xbox app for Windows to do the same: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-app.
Warn your buddies to launch the game in advance, before joining the session. Otherwise, game crashing may ensue.
When they see a tiny house icon on the planet - the game is on.
And that is pretty much it. Xbox and Windows 10 work nicely together when it comes to the crossplay. Although it's strongly recommended that Xbox players must be the game-hosts and send invitations to the PC-owners to join the session.
If you've noticed your Astroneer multiplayer not working on Xbox, try this: navigate to the network settings of your console and switch Nat type from Strict to Open. It must help.
Astroneer Multiplayer Steam
Playing/joining Astroneer Multiplayer Steam is a little different, but still pretty easy.
Follow these steps:
Go to your Steam account.
Press Shift + Tab to toggle the overlay.
Go to your Friends List.
Right-mouse-click on a person you want to join.
Select Invite to Game.
To join the ongoing game:
Open your Friends List on Steam.
See who's playing Astroneer at the moment.
Right-mouse-click on the nickname.
Select Join Game.
And the trick is done! Although this method works for PC-owners.
Can Astroneer's Multiplayer Be Local?
By the way, some of the players have been asking lately: Is Astroneer multiplayer local? Even though the authors voiced the possibility of Astroneer being available for the local co-op, unfortunately, neither split-screen co-op, nor LAN multiplayer are available at the moment.
One of the possible reasons for such neglect is the fear that going local will trigger an avalanche of small pirate Astroneer servers, thus causing a decline in the studio's profits.
However, let's just wait and hope for the better.

- Astroneer Beginners Guide 2018 Astroneer game is a picturesque space survival simulator, in which you land in a small pod on another planet, good enough for exploring. Your central enemies are energy/oxygen shortage and severe hurricanes that happen once in a while.
And your best friends are strategic thinking, terraforming tools and a well-developed base. Our guide will help you to stay more or less alive in your first hours of Astroneer.
Also Astroneer tutorial will help if you got stuck!
1. Happy Landing
After you have chosen your Astroneer avatar - they all are absolutely equal in their stats - you will land on an alien planet you will need to explore and colonize.
Once the landing is complete, the pod will transform itself into your shelter, to which you will be attached with an oxygen chord. Upon that shelter you will later build a magnificent space station.
2. First Tiny Steps
Watch the blue oxygen-meter on the top of your rucksack. If it runs low - immediately return to the base to refill it. Once it's 0 - you're dead.
Of course it can become a nuisance very quickly: returning to the mother-base all the time tremendously sabotages the loot expeditions. That's why you'll need to build tethers - the oxygen wires. To craft them you'll need to collect Compounds - blobs of grey substance. They are scattered across the planet in abundance.
Build a system of tethers by pressing T (PC), Down on the direction-pad (Xbox One).
Your terraforming tool is you #1 ally in the game. Use it to "suck in" the resources you need for building tethers/modules. Once you have a stash big enough, go to your backpack menu and choose which item to craft. For instance, in the beginning, you need to collect Compounds and Resin to extend your base a little.
3. Astroneer Base Building Tips
Collect Resin to build extra-modules: 3 stacks per one. Return to your shelter-pod and then enter the cursor mode - there you can choose extenders/modules.
Once you have a module, click on the orange button to choose the buildable units.
The recommended Astroneer build order includes these units:
1) Research. This unit allows you to research and unlock new items/units to further upgrade your base and equipment. To pay for the upgrades you'll have to part with Energy and Research Objects. The Research Objects can be found everywhere: in the crashed spacecraft debris, caves with poisonous plants and so on. You can only deliver them manually - prepare for an exercise.
2) Smelter. This one smelts raw ore into metal bars that are needed for building extra-advanced units. The metal ores can be found either underground or in the spaceship-wrecks.
3) Vehicle Bay. It grants you the ability to produce space vehicles: buggies, rovers, shuttles. Such vehicles can provide you with oxygen and help you cover long distances much faster.
4) Printer. A 3D printer, which similarly to your wonder-backpack can print such vital elements as solar panels, wind turbines, batteries, Drill Head etc.
5) Trade Platform. Allows you to trade resources you have for other raw resources you need. It used to be a great source of Hydrazine (vehicle fuel), but it's not anymore.
6) Fuel Condenser. Produces useful gases: Nitrogen, Methane etc.
4. Astroneer: How to Research
To unlock more advanced items, units, vehicles and so on, you will need to do a lot of researching.
First, you should build the Research Chamber. Using the Fabricator, first build a Large Type A platform and then the Research Chamber - it'll cost you 2 of Compound. After you have connected RC to the power, you need to earn Bytes - an in-game digital currency. You get a certain amount of them after you put an object in the Research Chamber for scientific scrutiny. NOTE: The rarer an object is, the more Bytes it will provide.
In the beginning you can put some alien grass in it to earn a small pile of Bytes for unlocking some basic stuff such as Tethers.
Now, when you have the Bytes, do this:
Open your backpack research menu.
You will see the catalog, which contains Schematics.
Exchange Bytes for the Schematics: Beacon, Oxygen Filters, Terrain Analyzer etc.
To unlock more technologies, you will need to go on a harvesting quest, searching for rare materials.
5. Power to the space people
In Astroneer every process and every piece of equipment depends on Power. And the Power you're utilizing personally is shown as the yellow meter on your backpack. Without it your terrain-shaper will go inactive. That's why you must build a decent power grid:
Solar panels. Can be attached to the backpack, absorbing the sunlight and converting into energy.
Wind turbine. At times there will be severe hurricanes. Turbines will convert their energy into Power.
Generators. Converts organic materials.
Batteries. Store Power for later use.
Those means of power-generating will keep your buildings, vehicles and also your backpack (via the Tethers) working.
Your backpack may be stuffed with valuable loot, but death always lurks around. If you suffocate/die from a toxic plant, you will respawn, but with no stuff you've managed to collect before dying. Investigate the place where your previous version died. There you will find your breathless body and also all the loot perfectly intact.
Don't collect glowing marbles that are colored like zebra/chess/leopard: they are useless garbage.
If a hurricane approaches you and you're too far away from the base/cave/vehicle, quickly dig a hole in the ground as a temporary shelter.
Search for orange-glowing sort of bacteria - they are filled with Power.
Press Shift+Click on a resource you want to harvest - it'll be added to your backpack instantly.
Build one Medium Storage and keep in it a stash of raw resources. Once you use a material, compensate by sending the needed raw resources to the Mineral Extractor. It is quite a good habit.
Before venturing to colonize another planet, have these:
1 of Ammonium.
1 of Malachite.
1 Small Solar Panel.
If the planet turns out to be a grim place, you'll have everything you need to return home.
If you have your own, original tips for surviving in Astroneer, please share with us!

- Astroneer Review - Lost Among the Stars Available: Steam's Early Access (Xbox One, PC)
Release Date: February 6, 2019
Sooner or later the humanity will leave its "cradle" - Earth that is - to conquer harsh worlds, lost among the stars, quasars and nebulas. Astroneer - the space survival simulator based on this idea - will provide you with hours of fun called "struggle-for-life". Almost all alone. On a faraway planet.
Graphics - 4.5/5
To say the least, Astroneer's graphics & sound are an odd mixture. Odd, but meditative. That's right: there's such a nice vibe of lonerism/isolation about its calm, but colorful graphics and ambient-styled music.
For example, the skies in Astroneer are stellar, thanks to both unique visual design and the countless stars, brightly shining whenever the alien sun hides behind the horizon line.
The out-of-this-world vibe becomes only stronger when your little spacesuited avatar slightly bounces off the ground on the soon-to-be-conquered planet. If anyone ever wanted to know what it feels like to stroll on a planet with the gravity force lower than that on Earth - Astroneer game will give you a quick insight.
Flashy, vibrant, sunny at day and deep, mysterious, infinite at night - that's what the explorable worlds look like. And especially nice is the landing effect - it feels so dizzy to observe your transport-pod landing on the planet's surface, smoothly falling through the orbit and clouds.
Sadly, along with its colorfulness comes the feeling that Astroneer perhaps is a bit immature and childish. At times the alien worlds look like decorations sculpted from playdough and colored with markers. Such a design sort of sabotages the central concept of the game: surviving at all costs in the harsh and quite unfriendly world, light years away from home.
Gameplay - 4.5/5
In the distant future - the 25th Age of Exploration, some sorta megacorporation Exo Dynamics gives a chance to every earthling to begin a new life on a planet in a far, far away galaxy. Or maybe just a Solar system.
That's when you learn how deceptive the first impression can be: cute-looking planets will do everything they can to have you strangled. Laterally. Keeping the oxygen levels sustained and making sure you won't run out of it during another loot raid is your #1 priority.
For that purpose you can:
Rush back to your base in panic.
Use Astroneer's transport - rovers and shuttles fueled with hydrazine. They are needed for both covering long distances and refilling oxygen.
Build a system of oxygen-tethers.
Now the tethers are literally a "cable" or "thread" of life for you. They perform almost the same function as torches in Minecraft.
Another serious concern to take care of - the energy supply. Everything requires energy in Astroneer: extending your base, crafting devices, mining resources etc. And you can count on:
Renewable energy sources - wind strength, sunlight.
Coal power plant - coal isn't that easy to obtain, alas.
At least you won't have to worry about stuffing your body with snacks/liquid, since anstroneers somehow suffer from no hunger or thirst.
Your main activities in Astroneer will include:
Drilling craters with the terraforming tool.
Scouting for resources.
Investigating the spacecraft crash sites - they always have rare stuff/artifacts.
Developing your base.
Exploring caves guarded by poison-spewing plants.
Oh, and don't forget that alien planet weather is quite whimsical and cruel too. The storms are absolutely merciless: they reduce visibility to 0 and make the trash/rocks/space debris swirl around you in a chaotic death dance. Should one of the storms catch unprepared, the best things to do are: a) get in a rover b) dug a hole in the ground and hide in it like a sneaky, chubby marmot.
Replay Value - 3.5/5
Astroneer, along with Raft and Subnautica is one of the top intriguing survival simulators by now. But it seriously lacks a couple of elements.
First, there are no alien encounters at the moment. Of course, we have the hostile plants that spit some gassy neurotoxins, but it's not enough. Encountering alien life forms, even in the primitive state would be a delicious treat for all the space adventure fans.
Second, the absence of the combat system makes Astroneer dimmer. The authors certainly miss out on a great opportunity to make the plot/gameplay more logically finished. Besides multiplayer, although limited to one server shared with friends, could have a combat system to bring an element of the healthy, murderous competition fun.
Our Astroneer Xbox one review highlighted the details of the game still in early access. That means there will be more stuff added to the game later. And even with all the content/features it lacks now, Astroneer is quite enchanting.
The worlds you will explore are beautiful. And the shortage of oxygen/energy and hazardous climate will keep you on your toes, even if the gameplay is mostly architected around mining/crafting/building things.
It won't let you get bored. By any means.
Mesmerizing alien landscapes.
Survival is a challenge.
Soothing ambient music.
No combat system.
No spacecraft flights.
Astroneer may look cute. But it sure knows how to make your forehead moisty with cold-cold sweat from panicking...

- Get Lithium resources in Astroneer easy In Astroneer, Lithium is hard to find because it’s a rare resource. But, it is used to make necessary things like Backpack or Small Battery. So, let us tell you where to find Lithium in Astroneer.
The rare Lithium resource can be both mined deep underground or lay on the surface. To mine Lithium, you have to make sure you’ve got a Drill Head or a Drill Mod. However, you can collect some Lithium using the Terrain Tool if the soil hardness is appropriate. In Astroneer, Lithium is an important resource, researching which can give you key game items.
Lithium is used to get the following game stuff:
Medium Battery (Lithium + Zinc);
RTG (NanoCarbon Alloy + Lithium).
The amount of available Lithium depends on a planet you research.
Most of Lithium can be found on such planets as:
Vesania is an exotic type of planet in Astroneer. The orbits around the planet are Moon and Novus. It's perhaps one of the most specific and diverse planets in Astroneer game. With its thick and lush atmosphere and very unusual Terrain, Versania is also a great resource of Lithium. Discover the planet attentively to find it.
With its light foggy atmosphere and purple, forested and cratered Terrain, Novus contains Lithium mines and sources.
As for the other items collected, you should place Lithium into the Research Chamber to get bytes.
The Trade Platform also gives you 1 Lithium for every 4 Scrap and up to 2 total for 8 Scrap. The Trade Platform provides you with access to rare raw unprocessed materials. Scrap is a trading currency for the platform. It is loaded into the paying slots on the mechanism. There are 8 payload slots on the trading platform. After launched, it takes up to 50 seconds for the mechanism to give back an unprocessed resource.

- How to get Bytes in the Astroneer game Astroneer is a sandbox game where you are an astronaut and explorer of unknown planets. You will learn terraforming, resource extraction and of course battle with aggressive forms of extraterrestrial life. In Astroneer, you will get bytes for most of your activities. Bytes are a virtual currency that you can spend on discovering new possibilities and crafting. While bytes aren’t particularly hard to gain, some players might be wondering how they can get more bytes in Astroneer. Follow the article to learn how to get bytes in Astroneer game fast.
Get a Research Chamber
Game currency comes mostly from the researches. To start doing them, firstly you have to build a new platform using 2 of Resin deposits. Once you've made a platform, use the Fabricator to print the Research Chamber. Don’t forget to connect the Research Chamber to power.
With your Research Chamber powered up, it's time to start collecting bytes. To earn bytes, place the items you have found into the Research Chamber and activate it.
Easy ways to get bytes in Astroneer
Using bytes in Astroneer, you can develop and expand your base by placing new buildings or creating new vehicles. Bytes can be also spent on crafting schematics. For example, spending1,600 bytes gives you a small Oxygen Tank. You can place it on a vehicle to get a mobile oxygen tank. To find more schematics - look in the Catalog in the game menu.
The amount of bytes you’ll get depends on which item you’re researching. You can do researches in different places. For example, there are caves in which usually you can find small things that look like crystals or seeds. Get them and place into the Research Chamber.
Things that are awarded with Bytes are called Research Samples and Research Items. After you collected and put them into the Chamber, they become Resources.
Research Samples are produced mostly by different plants and rocks around the planets. But, you can also find them in the EXO Dynamics Research Aids that are scattered on most of the planets too. Natural (organic and mineral) samples are the fastest way to get bytes. It is recommended to explore and find more patches of colour-tipped grass. Tall grass can be collected for Organic resources, which gives you a minimum 100 bytes. Once you’ve got a unit of Organic resource, place it into the Research Chamber from your backpack and use the panel on the Research Chamber to begin harvesting bytes of research.
Rewards for samples come within a few minutes of being gathered. The gained amount is based on which planet the item was found and how deep the user goes.
Research Items are rare but the bytes output for collecting them is usually higher than for Samples.
Another tip is to get a Soil Centrifuge. It gives you a small boost for getting output. For example, if you put up to 8 Organic samples in the Centrifuge, you’ll get 400 bytes. Clay will give you 600 bytes for 6 samples. The Soil Centrifuge is used for limited types of items and samples.
We hope you liked our guide on getting bytes in Astroneer. Now, head straight to the researches and have a good time exploring space!

- Become a Pro Buy Learning the Astrooner Building Base Tips The System of Era Softworks, together with the help of Unreal Engine for it to become a much successful game, first announced and introduced the game Astroneer in October 2015. This kind of game is made of texture-less environments which were conceptualized by the very creative thinking artist named John Liberto.
It was on December 16, 2016, when an early version of the Astroneer Game was released and the game was expected to last a year or two, and on February 6, 2019, a 1.0 version of the game was then released. Among many other games that you have played before, Astroneer is different. Astroneer is a Sandbox Adventure Game created by System Era Softworks.
In playing this game, the mission of the player is to colonize the planets, creating and building structures and mining the resources of the planet that they have colonized. The game Astroneer doesn’t have a goal that you have to put up or a storyline that you have to meet. Nevertheless, each planet that you will colonize has different levels of challenges for the players to accomplish. His co-founder and also a lead artist sadly passed away on March 27, 2017, and he passed away four months after the early release of the Astroneer game.
What Efficient Way to Complete the Task in Building Base In Astroneer?
Like every other game, there is always a cheat or tips that will help you to defeat or earn an achievement to your game. If you’re a type of player who finds it difficult in building a base in Astroneer, well you are in luck. We will make sure that after you read this article, you will earn enough knowledge and you will be skilful enough in building a base in Astroneer.
We know that you are very much eager to know the tips in building a base in Astroneer, but we will let you learn the tips slowly because we want to make sure that you will be satisfied after reading this article. Can’t wait? So let’s get started!
Collecting Resources Is A Must!
Gathering your resources is a very much bellyaching portion of the game, but you have to do it for you to survive in Astroneer. You will be so thankful because you will learn how to play this game early as before anyone else’s would know.
For you to gather the resources, you first have to press E for you to equip the tool that you will need in this game. Then, you must press and hold your right mouse button in ready for you to gather the resources you need. You have to remember that like every other tool or weapon that you are using, at some point it will inevitably run out of power. Do not think that you will lose the progress of your game, thinking that you will be defeated just because the power of your tool run’s out its power because you can power it up again. For you to recharge the tool that you are using, you have to stop using your tool and patiently wait for a few moments to let it recharge.
Keep in mind that you only have a limited space in your backpack so be wise enough throughout the game in Astroneer. Because of this, we highly recommend you that you have to gather as much Resin as you can gather in the entire game of Astroneer. Why? It’s because Resin is the very first important resource that you have to gather in order for you to build a base in Astroneer. If you lack gathering Resin as your resources, you will immediately fail and lose the progress of your game, and you won’t have the chance to build a base in Astroneer.
Suffocation Must Be Prevented
It is very much hard to overcome and survive the massive expansion of space it is because of the lack of oxygen. Keep in mind that if you think that you will be enjoyed yourself if you are planning and wanting to explore and talk a walk in the game in Astroneer, it might not be the very best idea to do because you will suffocate. Remember that oxygen is only limited!
Of course, you don’t want that to happen, are we right? So stay near as possible to your pod. The key to remember that when you are near in your pod, you will see a blue tether will come out, you need this because it will supply you oxygen for you to survive the ambiance in Astroneer. And if you stroll away from your pod, the blue tether will disappear.
You will be able to take a breath for a difficult minute, depleting of your oxygen level will be the result of it. Walk back to your pod until the blue tether that supplies you oxygen reappears.
To make your life in Astroneer easier, you have to gather the Compound resource, and you have to use it to build yourself a blue tether for you to have loads of oxygen.
Press Q, your backpack will now open and craft the tethers, now that you have loads of blue tethers supplying your oxygen, you now have to walk away from the pod and place them all onto the ground. You can now stroll away from your pod without you getting suffocate.
Building Your Base for a Progress
The Resin that you have collected will help you build a foundation for your base. Now, return to your pod and search for the possible ports on the outside, and click one of them. A platform will appear with the word Resin. You will need two additional Resins. By providing this resource in your inventory, use it. You now own a base extension that will allow you to build different facilities in Astroneer. If ever your friends challenged you about this, they will be impressed by your skills in building a base in Astroneer.
